Fr. Gregory Mielnik was born near Toronto, Ontario in 1958. He spent his formative years under the spiritual care of His Eminence Archbishop (later Metropolitan) Mikhail (Khoroshy) of thrice blessed memory, serving as his Subdeacon. Fr. Gregory received his theological education at St. Andrews College in Winnipeg. He met his wife Brenda (Anna) in Winnipeg and they were married in 1984. They have two sons, Danylo and Jacob (Yakiv). Fr. Gregory was ordained to the Deaconate on October 21, 1984 at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Winnipeg, MB by Archbishop Wasyly (Fedak) and to the Priesthood on November 18, 1984 at St. Volodymyr Cathedral, Toronto, ON by Archbishop Wasyly (Fedak). Ministering to parishes in, Sheho, SK; St. Catharines, ON; Oshawa, ON; Winnipeg, MB. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Fr Gregory has served on many diocesan, eparchial and national boards and committees. One of his pastoral focuses is upon the worship of the Orthodox Church, chairing and serving on national and international committees committed to translating and preparing liturgical texts for the spiritual needs of the faithful. Fr. Gregory has been serving St. George's Parish since August 2016.

Deacon Yakiv (Jacob) Mielnik was born in St. Catharines, Ontario. He spent much of his formative years under spiritual formation at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Oshawa, Ontario. Upon moving to Winnipeg for theological studies at St. Andrew’s College, he was tonsured a Reader and Subdeacon on November, 9, 2008 by His Eminence Metropolitan John (of blessed memory), Archbishop of Winnipeg and the Central Eparchy, Metropolitan of Canada, Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Canada at Holy Trinity Cathedral in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Subdeacon Yakiv served as Subdeacon to His Eminence Metropolitan John and later His Eminence Metropolitan Yurij. As a Subdeacon, Yakiv organized various liturgical services during Archpastoral Anniversaries, SOBORS and the Enthronement of Metropolitan Yurij. In 2016, he returned to St. Catharines, where he served the parish of St. George in various capacities; Website Administrator and general graphic design work for the parish, cantoring services, liturgical music preparation, etc. In 2017 He authored and published ‘The Acolyte- A Manual for Altar Servers’ on behalf of the Eastern Eparchy. On Saturday, April 1, 2023, Subdeacon Yakiv was ordained to the Holy Deaconate by His Grace Bishop Andriy, Bishop of Toronto and the Eastern Eparchy at St. George Ukrainian Orthodox Church in St. Catharines, Ontario.
